women into
golf offers weekend golf breaks, an annual interstate
match and occasional trips overseas.
Vintage Golf.
The long weekend in June is when Victoria (women into
golf) meets South Australia (Executive Women's
Golf Network) for the annual challenge match. This trip is the highlight
of the year for members of women into
golf. The chance to play for their State is
only overshadowed by the fun.
Although the match is dubbed "Vintage Golf", this is a reference to the
wine consumed, rather than the age group of the players.
There can be up to 20 players in the Victorian team for which no minimum
standard of golf is required.
Weekend Golf schools
From time to time we will go off to a Victorian country location to play
and learn golf. There is usually much eating, drinking and laughing with
golf as the focus. The venues chosen are very welcoming for all and local
wine is usually sampled at length.
See the Calendar of events or contact Kay for information on forth-coming
trips.
The Home of Golf
In July 2000 six women into
golf members met in St Andrews, Scotland where
they drank in the almost religious atmosphere of the Home of Golf. The
group walked The Old Course, played The Jubilee Course and played an international
match with the lady members at Scotscraig Golf Club. Firm friendships
were cemented and some found the time together was a life-changing experience.
